The great thing about Business Analytics is that it covers so many interesting topics. Whenever you are faced with a complex problem or a large amount of data, chances are Business Analytics can help.

Visa used a form of Business Analytics called Activity Based Management to perform over 20 million financial allocations in less than an hour. It had previously taken two weeks.

The real benefit however is their ability to see and analyze how revenue and expenses are consumed by both products and clients. They can look at fees and expenses in different ways for different accounts to understand what drives profitability. This information can be shared with Account Executives to provide detailed analyses of all products, revenues and investments relating to a specific client. Armed with this information Visa understands how a client’s actions impact their bottom line – efficiently.
